Practice and dues

Iaido practice is canceled on Monday February 20 due to Presidents Day.

Practice will be in room 201 on Friday February 24; the beginner class will also be canceled that day.

February PNFK Kendo and Iaido Shinsa

Date: Saturday, February 25th

Time: Kendo: 11:30am registration, 12:30pm - 4:00pm test; Iaido: 9:00am. Open keiko afterward, 4-5pm.

Location: Odyssey at Tyee Educational Complex, 4424 S. 188th Street, SeaTac, WA

Please see Hancock-sensei at practice for permission to test.

Registration (closed)

We would like to have all Obukan registration completed by Sunday, February 5th, since the registration is due to the PNKF by February 11th. To register, please see Ben at practice (no online form this time). You can complete the PNFK's paper registration form (found here) and give it to Ben, or just complete it with him at practice. If you are taking the iaido shinsa, see Ben, as there is a separate registration form and such.

You must have current 2012 PNKF/AUSKF dues paid in order to take the shinsa. Please contact AJ, Chris Parkins, or Ben if you want to pay or check your status. Click here to read about paying your dues.

Written Exam

For 1-Kyu through 4-Dan, there are written exam question(s) that must be completed before the shinsa and provided to the examiners at the shinsa. A list of the questions for each rank can be found here. Note that these questions are new and different from the ones you might have recieved in an earlier email.

Kata Requirements

1-kyu: 1-3

1-dan: 1-5

2-dan: 1-7

3&4-dan: 1-10

Fees

Make a check for the total exam and certificate fee to "Obukan Kendo Club" and give to AJ or Ben. Note that these fees are separate from the AUSKF/PNKF dues.
